It is quite unlike that a virus contagion the entire world and earns the designation of “Novel” for its recent outbreak. As a brand, we always plan things; both for us and our clients in advance. It is a natural process, and there’s no point hindering it.
But, nobody has prepared for this pandemic. No one has a clue that this would spread like this, and the effect will be this much huge. Apart from setting up the basic guidelines for the employees’ safety and business during such a crisis, it is now essential for us to address the issue with patience, empathy, and proper strategy:
Right Marketing Approach is Essential During a Crisis
In this blog, we are going to share some important marketing tips on how you should prepare your marketing strategy during this crisis. Though every company acts according to their market and brand approach, we hope that these tips will help you make the right choice and avoid any unnecessary chaos.
Also, if you have something you want to share with us or would like to add, then please share it in the comment section below. We are open to your suggestion. Else, we hope you will find these tips useful.
(1) Reschedule both your Content & Campaign Timelines:
First things first; either pause or re-create the on-going campaign in your pipeline. Change the content, the keywords, the image or the headline. Do whatever necessary at this moment.
Changing content strategy won’t take much of your time and effort. The only thing you have to do is rewrite it relevant to the situation (i.e. COVID -19 related precautions and advice) or how you can help them during this tough time.
Also, take a closer look at what your competitors are posting and writing. In this way, you will get a better idea about the kind of campaign and content you need to prepare.
(2) Make temporary changes in your Email marketing approach
It is expected that this lockdown time won’t last long. So, it is better for you to make some quick changes in both your visual, as well as the tagline language. Like; while doing email marketing the subject line should sound helpful “Let’s help you reshape your brand during this tough time”. Also, start your email with a wish note, like; I wish and pray that both you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. While ending the email, end with a positive note like (Stay Safe, Stay at Home or Stay Safe and Save Lives)
Adding this kind of language sounds helpful and concern towards the client, which can help you get a conversation going on a positive note.
(3) Show them the proactive measures you are taking
The panic over the pandemic is obvious, but it’s not the solution. Communicate with your customers, with your clients about the proactive measures you are taking in this crisis. Show them the earlier decision you have made for yourself, for your employees; about the policy updates, about the precautions guidelines you have prepared for them, the health insurance you are providing to your employees. Set an example for them.
Remember, most of us are now working from home. So, it is up to you how you are taking this. Show some empathy to those employees, ask about their health, and how they are managing this time. Don’t pressurize them for the deadline. No matter what, your simple gratitude will boost proactiveness in this tough time.
(4) Be Positive & Responsible
Recall 2008-09 recession, the early year of the economy. Most of the brands fell because of the economic crisis at that time. On the other hand, a few touched the new heights because of their patience and positive approach.
The current scenario is also like that. The more patience and positiveness that comes from your site will decide your presence and brand value in the future.
Prepare content with a message related to COVID-19. Share the work from home experience of your employees on social media with their image on it. Show your client, customer, and partner that you are tackling the situation with a positive approach.
(5) Show them what your brand can do
You have started this business with a mission; that you are going to help other brands achieve their goal. Well, this is the right time to prove this right. Most of the small firms are finding it difficult to remain in the business in this tough time. Approach them first and make them understand that you are here to help them in this crisis.
Show them that all your employees are still working from home, and they are ready to assist them at any moment. Share the strategy template you have prepared.
As long as your motive is to provide all kinds of help, your brand value will only go higher and higher.
Be Patient: This will pass too
We are now in the quarantine period. Slowly but surely the situation is getting under control in most of the places. So, all of us should focus on the current scenario and make the most of this quarantine time by reshaping our business to the next level.
Remember, we are all in this together. Let’s not lose hope; we are all going to come out of this even stronger. Stay Safe and Save Lives.
